Hello Sparks Families,

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who help make YES Prep Southeast Elementary an amazing place to be. We are a community with many gifts and talents, which we share daily with one another and most importantly, our students. From the classrooms to the playground, our collective efforts to raise the whole child are filled with passion, commitment, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to support your student's education. Families are such a critical part of all we hope to accomplish for our Southeast Elementary Staff.

Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift. I am grateful to our relentless, kind, achiever, creative, inquisitive, funny, loving, and resilient students. They push us every day to be better for them because they deserve it. In the spirit of this holiday season, I want to extend my thanks to all of you for everything you do for our school. During this time of the year, I am reminded of how honored and blessed I am to serve as the proud principal of YES Prep Southeast Elementary. It is an honor to see our Sparks' brains grow, become independent thinkers and strong self-advocates of their needs. Thank you for letting me serve you this first semester.

I look forward to next semester and all of the challenges we will face together and the wins we will celebrate together. To the families and friends of the YES Prep Southeast Elementary community, please have a safe and joyous holiday season.

Ms. Rios

Campus Ambassador Opportunity

We would love your help! Would you be interested in being a campus ambassador?

  • What is a campus ambassador?
    •  As mentioned above, our lottery for the 22-23 school year opens on October 29th. This means that everyone who is not currently attending our school is able to apply via SchoolMint.
    • Our campus ambassadors during the recruitment and enrollment period (October 29th-end of February) would support the campus in recruiting new applicants.
  • How would you help?
    • Dropping off flyers
    • Recommending family, friends and neighbors
    • Supporting us during recruitment events on and off-campus

There will be a meeting to give you all the details for participation. We are so excited to provide our parents with this opportunity to support our campus in a different capacity!

Please email  if you would like to be a part of this wonderful initiative. There might be prizes for our ambassadors 😉.

Winter Break Reminders

This year our winter break starts December 20th and goes until January 4th. The first day back to school is Wednesday, January 5th

Students will be taking home their laptops over Fall Break and it will be a great opportunity for them to work on Imagine Learning. Imagine Learning is a computer-based program that extends and enriches what students have already been learning in class. Bilingual students can work on all 3 programs (Language & Literacy, Imagine Math, and Imagine Español) and Monolingual students can work on Imagine Language & Literacy and Imagine Math. The more time students spend on Imagine Learning - the better the academic outcomes!

Front Office Procedures

As we continue to prioritize safety, we are adjusting the process when you visit the front office. When you arrive, please ring the doorbell (located to the right of the door). You will be greeted via the speaker. Please respond with the reason for your visit and your student's name. Then, you will be granted access to the building.

Also, if another family enters the building in front of you, please do not enter the building behind them. You will need to ring the doorbell and share the reason for your visit also. If you are waiting in the lobby, please do not open the door for someone else to enter the building.
