UPDATE: Due to an Assistant Principal pull to the Home Office, and as Ms. Tomei (AP) is our main coordinator, the MAP/CIRCLE celebration for PreK–2nd grade has been moved to February 26. Thank you for your understanding!

Dear Southeast Elementary Families,

Warm greetings to you all! As always, I want to begin by thanking you for the continued support and partnership you show our school. Your involvement and encouragement make a meaningful difference in the experiences we are able to create for our students.

Thank you to our families and our Family Association for the incredible support of our Valentine Dance. It was a joyful event filled with laughter, connection, and celebration, and it would not have been possible without your time, energy, and commitment to building community at Southeast Elementary.

Next week, our school will celebrate Peaceful Problem Solving Week. Throughout the week, students will be learning and practicing strategies to resolve conflicts respectfully, communicate their feelings, and work through challenges in positive ways. These skills are essential for both academic and personal growth. Families can support this work at home by encouraging children to talk through problems, model calm communication, and reflect on how their choices impact others. When students see these skills reinforced at home and at school, they grow more confident and capable in navigating everyday situations.

We also want to wish our 5th grade students the very best as some of them head to camp next week. This is a special and memorable experience that builds independence, teamwork, and leadership. We are excited for them and know they will represent Southeast Elementary well.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and trust. We are grateful to partner with you in the education and growth of your children

With care and appreciation,
Jorge Rodriguez
Principal, Southeast Elementary
