UPDATE: Due to an Assistant Principal pull to the Home Office, and as Ms. Tomei (AP) is our main coordinator, the MAP/CIRCLE celebration for PreK–2nd grade has been moved to February 26. Thank you for your understanding!

Dear Southeast Elementary Families,
Warm greetings and thank you for another amazing week at Southeast Elementary! Our campus continues to be filled with learning, joy, and meaningful moments for our students. We are grateful for the consistent partnership and encouragement you provide—your support truly strengthens our school community.
Our students had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine’s Day in their classrooms. Beyond the fun and festivities, it was heartwarming to see students practicing kindness, appreciation, and friendship. These moments help reinforce the strong sense of belonging that makes Southeast such a special place.
As a reminder, there will be no classes on Monday, February 16. We hope this long weekend provides your family with time to rest and recharge. We look forward to welcoming students back ready to learn on Tuesday.
Next week, we will also continue celebrating the rich diversity and culture that makes our school community so vibrant. Students will have opportunities to learn about and recognize traditions connected to Mardi Gras, Lunar New Year, and Ramadan. These celebrations provide meaningful opportunities for students to expand their understanding of cultures and traditions from around the world.
In addition, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will take an important Common Assessment next week. These assessments help us measure student progress and guide our instructional next steps. It is very important that students are present and on time so they can demonstrate their learning. Please review the attached calendar for specific testing dates and ensure your child is well-rested and ready.
Looking ahead, February 26 will be an early dismissal day to allow time for parent-teacher conferences. These conferences are an important opportunity to discuss your child’s academic progress, strengths, and next steps for growth. We encourage you to reach out directly to your child’s teacher if you would like to schedule a conference. When families and teachers work together with shared understanding, students benefit greatly.
Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and involvement in your child’s education. We are proud to serve this incredible community and look forward to another strong week ahead
With care and appreciation,
Jorge Rodriguez
Principal, Southeast Elementary
