Hola Families,

What a wonderful way to end the week for our students. Literacy on the Lawn was a huge success! So many families were able to join us and read to their students while eating lunch. Other students enjoyed quality time with their Teacher as they read to them in their classroom setting. All-in-all, for all students it was a time to connect, laugh, and bond. The excitement in their face as they read new discoveries is priceless. We look forward to many more events on campus. As the holiday season progresses, please be safe and eat well. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday, November 28, 2022.

Latresha Campbell

Assistant Principal

Please save the date for all our upcoming events throughout the month of December.

Car Rider Families

In order to ensure student and staff safety, your student must be on the passenger side of your vehicle when you come through the drop-off line in the mornings. Our staff will not able to unload from the driver side. In the event the student is on the driver side, you may be asked to exit your vehicle, and walk your student around the vehicle to the staff member on duty.

Excused Absences & Submission of Notes

Families are now able to upload student absences and excuse notes into Skyward for approval. Please review this video that details the process.

Student Attendance Reminders

Parents, please be reminded that our goal is to have all students in school each and every day. To make this a reality we need the support of our parents and families. Students arriving after 7:30 are considered tardy and need to check in at the front desk. Please contact the front office at 713-842-5555 if your student is going to be absent.

To remain in compliance with our district, please note the following:

A student's absence will be considered excused if a student provides physical or electronic documentation within 48 hours of absence indicating the student’s full name, and dates missed and is signed by a guardian or doctor mentioning any of the following reasons below and only if the absence meets the criteria defined under the excused absence section of our handbook.

Upon return to school, a student absent for more than three (3) consecutive days because of a personal illness must bring a statement from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition that caused the student’s extended absence from school.
