Dear Southeast Families, 

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership in making Southeast Elementary such a special community. 

We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your patience and cooperation during our transition to the new dismissal process. Thanks to your understanding and teamwork, the new system has been a great success, helping us keep students safe and ensuring a smoother, more efficient end to each school day. 

A few important reminders for the upcoming week: 

  • No classes this Friday or Monday – we hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and takes time to rest and recharge! 

  • Hispanic Heritage Festival – Thursday, October 16, from 4:30–6:00 p.m. Join us for an afternoon filled with music, dance, food, and cultural pride as we celebrate the diverse Hispanic roots that make our Southeast community so vibrant.

Yes Prep Southeast Elementary Front Office is open to families from 7:30 am to 3:00 PM and our phone lines are open from 7am to 3 PM for regular business needs.

Student Assistance Forms

We know that you may have some needs that arise as a parent, or guardian. You can receive direct help by submitting a “Student Assistance Form” or, a SAF. To communicate any support needs you may have, please click on the SAF link on the district website or use the QR code below. The campus Student Support Counselor will follow up with you to determine the best way to get your need met. SAFs can be submitted for:

Urgent family concerns

Family or student supplies or resources needed for school (i.e., calculator, books, food)

Student social and emotional concerns

Student home or family concerns

Student relationship concerns

Concerns about harassment, race, or equity.

 

 

 

Hispanic Heritage Festival-October 16,2025

Theme: “Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future”

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 – October 15, and we will be honoring this rich cultural tradition with a special celebration in October.

We’re excited to invite you to this year’s Hispanic Heritage Festival, a celebration of the vibrant cultures and heritage that shape Hispanic identity while embracing the creativity and promise of future generations.

Get ready to show your school spirit and join the fun during Red Ribbon & Anti-Bullying Week! Here’s what each day looks like:

Monday, Oct. 27 – Red Day
Wear RED to kick off the week and show your commitment to a drug-free, bully-free school.

Tuesday, Oct. 28 – Team Day
Choose a fun theme as a class and team up against bullying and drugs!

Wednesday, Oct. 29 – Be Someone’s Hero
Dress in camo or as your favorite superhero 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️ and inspire others!

Thursday, Oct. 30 – My Future is Too Bright
Wear neon colors to celebrate school spirit and shine bright! 🌟

Friday, Oct. 31 – Say BOO to Drugs
Dress in school-appropriate storybook costumes 📚👻 (no toys or masks). Don’t forget to bring the book or know the author’s name!

Volunteering at SEE

We are excited to announce that our volunteer program is back this year! If you are interested in participating as a volunteer at SEE please follow the steps below. We understand everyone’s schedule differ and  have created many  exciting opportunities for you to be involved whether your availability is recurring , occasional or a one-time opportunity.

Please follow the steps below:

Step 1:

All volunteers must complete a background check in order to participate.

Join our volunteer list by completing the form below.

Step 3:

After completing the volunteer list, you will be added to the 25-26 Volunteers in ParentSquare. This will be our main channel of communication for volunteer requests.

 

 Ways to participate:

Daily /Weekly Opportunities

Volunteers in this category can support in creating instructional materials such as making copies, laminating, cutting, creating folders, flash card, etc.  They will not be able to volunteer inside classrooms.

Recurring volunteer opportunities will be shared in the Volunteer ParentSquare group by our Executive Assistant- Mrs. Suyapa Gomez . She will oversee recurring and campus events volunteers.

 

 Campus hosted special events

  • What is considered a campus special event?

Any volunteer opportunity that is not front office help. Such as family engagement nights for example Hispanic Heritage Night, Black Brilliance Night, STAAR culture day,etc.

  • How to register for special events?

The executive assistant will promote the events via family notes , social media and ParentSquare. Volunteers will need to register using a form shared through the volunteer channel in ParentSquare.

 

Family Association hosted special events

  • What is considered a family association special event?

Our family association will host some special events throughout the year, such as Fall Festival, which will be discussed and promoted during monthly Family association meetings.

  •  How to register for family association events?

The family association representative (FAR) will be responsible for contacting & scheduling the volunteers for these events and will report to Principal’s EA.

 

 

Student Meals

Students require nutritious meals to learn and become productive adults. The Child Nutrition Department offers quality, nutritious meals daily. Click on the button below to view this week's menu.
