Dear Southeast Elementary Families,

As we come to the end of a very successful month of February, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished together.

This month was full of meaningful milestones for our students. They demonstrated strong effort and growth through both MAP and Common Assessments, giving us important insight into their academic progress. We also had the joy of welcoming many of you into our building for our Black Brilliance program—an evening centered on learning, celebration, and community. In addition, we experienced a very positive month of student attendance, which plays a critical role in student achievement.

None of this happens without you. Your support at home, your presence at events, and your commitment to getting students to school each day are essential to these successes. Thank you for being active partners in your child’s education.

As we enter March, we step into a critical stretch of the school year. Teachers will be using assessment data to refine instruction, strengthen small-group support, and prepare students to meet STAAR and other important academic goals. This is a time for focus, consistency, and continued collaboration. Your ongoing support—ensuring strong attendance, encouraging effort, and reinforcing positive habits at home—remains key to helping our students finish the year strong.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to our parent volunteers and Family Association for their tremendous support of our school community. From assisting teachers with projects, to organizing special programs, to fueling our staff with food and encouragement, your generosity and dedication do not go unnoticed. We are truly fortunate to have such a supportive and engaged family community.

Thank you for everything you do to support Southeast Elementary. Together, we will continue building momentum for our students’ success.

With appreciation,

Jorge Rodriguez

Principal, Southeast Elementary

TELPAS Testing

Dear Parents,

TELPAS Testing This Week!
On 3/3 and 3/5, our bilingual students from 2nd–5th grade will be taking their TELPAS examinations. We kindly need your support to help our students succeed—please ensure your child gets a good night’s rest, enjoys a healthy breakfast, and arrives on time.

Please remember to send an individually packed snack with your child for their snack break (examples: gummies, crackers, cookies, or Goldfish). We also appreciate your generosity—if you are able, consider donating extra snacks for the class to help students who may forget. Your support makes a big difference in helping all students succeed!
