Diana Rios, Founding Principal
Diana has been a teacher for 16 years, having taught in Houston, Colombia, and Guatemala. Diana also comes with experience as a grade-level chair, as well as teaching bilingual education at the elementary level and teaching adults and children in the Special Education program.
Before joining YES, Diana taught at De Chaumes for over a decade where she most recently served as a teacher specialist and administrator. At De Chaumes, she helped develop the Gifted and Talented Ancillary program, coached novice teachers as the lead of the school's math team, and led Parenting Partners workshops to empower parents.
Diana is always striving to improve herself and has presented at several state conferences, the latest being the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching.
Diana was born and raised in Colombia, is bilingual and has a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Antioquia in Colombia and a Master's in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University.
